Community-based groups made up of volunteers and staff from different agencies and areas of the community focused on preventing youth substance use through evidenced-based initiatives meant to increase protective factors and decrease risk factors. OneEighty partners with four community coalitions in Wayne County, each with volunteers and staff from different agencies and areas of the community. These community-based groups focus on preventing youth substance use by applying evidenced-based initiatives meant to increase protective factors and decrease risk factors. This goal is achieved through activities such as education, information sharing, and family-friendly community events such as Harvest Bash, Hometown Tailgate, and Pizza & Books. The coalitions also implement community-specific and county-wide projects such as: Communities Talk – a forum to discuss trends in preventing alcohol and other drug misuse Hidden in Plain Sight – an interactive drug education program for parents and guardians Teen Institute – student-led groups working to prevent substance use and building positive assets among their peers TIPS Vendor Training – a skills-based training program intended to promote responsible sales and service of alcohol by local businesses

https://lnkd.in/e_wZESeK Mental health is an essential aspect of overall well-being, yet navigating the complexities of healthcare coverage for mental health and substance use services can be daunting. Despite the growing awareness around mental health and substance use, there remain numerous misconceptions about what coverage exists in Ohio and how it works.
