One of the most challenging parts of faith is trusting God even when we don’t know what’s ahead?? So often we want the Who, What, Where, When, and WHY in every situation, especially the bad. We crave answers, a roadmap, a guarantee. But God simply asks us to surrender and trust that it's part of His greater plan for all of us. Wanting to know all these details creates a false sense of control. We think if we understand every situation, we can steer the outcome. But true peace comes from giving that control over to God and surrendering. It’s releasing the tight grip we have on our own finite wisdom and placing it in the hands of the One who sees the beginning and the end. One of the most beautiful parts of trusting the Lord is that it doesn’t require complete understanding. We don’t have to grasp the intricate workings of His plan to experience His faithfulness. When we surrender, we acknowledge that God’s perspective is infinitely greater than ours. He sees the tapestry of our lives from above, while we only see a few tangled threads. How do we practically surrender? We do this by pouring out our fears and uncertainties in prayer and spending time in His Word. Choose to focus on God’s past faithfulness, remembering how He has ALWAYS come through. And remember, we can face anything because He is always with us. Let us choose today to release our fears and embrace the peace that comes from trusting in God's perfect plan??

We're officially 9 days away from our first annual Miles for the Mission 5k! The OneCompassion “Miles for the Mission” 5K Race is a community-driven event designed to support families in Johnston County, NC, who are facing challenging circumstances. This race brings together runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages to help raise funds and awareness for the mission of OneCompassion. Whether you’re an experienced runner or participating for fun, this 5K is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in our community. All proceeds from the event go directly toward assisting local families with financial hardship, food insecurity, and other crises, ensuring that no one has to face adversity alone. Get to know our 2025 Women's Retreat Keynote Speaker, Shannon Stewart! ?? "I’m just a small-town girl from Franklin, Ohio, but God, in His goodness, led me on a journey I never expected. Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a model—and the Lord, in His kindness, brought that dream to life. He opened doors for me to compete on Season One of America’s Next Top Model, where I became the runner-up. He gave me the opportunity to travel the world, grace magazine covers, and walk the runway during New York Fashion Week. But do you know what’s far more rewarding than being a model? Being a role model—one who impacts lives for eternity. Through it all, I have learned this unshakable truth: When I have Jesus, I have everything I need. He is my joy in the journey, my peace in the chaos, my hope for the future, and my comfort in the unknown. The world may try to define me by titles, accomplishments, or even failures, but my identity is not found in people’s labels, opinions, or even in how I feel. I am defined by Him. I am a daughter of the King, chosen, redeemed, and called for His purpose. I am far from perfect—just a work in progress, under Divine construction, being shaped by the hands of my Father, the Great Potter. I have fallen, but by His grace, I have risen. I have been broken, but His loving hands have made me whole. I have made mistakes, but He has never stopped pursuing me with His unfailing love. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” This truth has carried me through every season. My story isn’t about what I’ve done—it’s about what He has done. The cross is my reminder that I am redeemed, restored, and fully known and loved by my Savior." Have you ever caught yourself chasing something that you thought would make you feel better—only to realize it left you empty? Maybe it’s that promotion you’ve been working so hard for, or a purchase you didn’t really need but it made you feel good in the moment. A number on the scale or a goal jean size? The world offers us all sorts of things to grab our attention. We think, “This is it. This will finally make me happy and at peace”. But we all know how those moments can fade quickly, don’t we? That initial excitement is often short-lived. We try so hard to fill these holes inside us with things, achievements, or recognition, but no matter what we grab, the emptiness creeps back in, and we’re left wondering why we’re still searching. Satan loves to flash bigger and seemingly better worldly things in front of us to trick us, and this is when we need to remember his power to deceive us can never match the freeing promise of God. God’s fulfillment isn’t about having more; it’s about having His presence in our lives.God's peace is a deep, unshakable sense of rest and assurance that transcends our circumstances. It’s a peace and fulfillment we can ONLY get through Him. Think about how Eve and Jesus responded to temptation: Eve let Satan talk her into sin by twisting God’s truth. Jesus responded to Satan with truth, standing firm in God’s Word. What will our response be? Let our prayer be for the Lord to open our eyes for the enemy’s plans against us. To not make these things an idol in our lives. To choose to declare TRUTH and stand firm in God’s word knowing it’s truly the only thing that will fill any void.
