?????? The Virginia Association of School Librarians bestowed its Administrator of the Year award on Providence Middle Principal M.J. Rodney. The annual award recognizes support for the development of an exemplary school library program as well as making an outstanding and sustained contribution to advancing the role of the school library program as an agency for the improvement of education.

Dr. Lisa High has been named deputy superintendent for Chesterfield County Public Schools, effective Jan. 27. She will assume the role previously held by Dr. John Murray, who was recently appointed superintendent of Chesterfield County Public Schools. Dr. High joined Chesterfield County Public Schools in 2019 as chief of schools. In that role, she led the CCPS Division of School Leadership and Support Services. That includes supervising all principals; analyzing academic performance of schools; providing student support services (counselors, social workers, psychologists, etc.); working to create a culture of equity and excellence; and challenging the school improvement team and instructional team to close achievement gaps. ? After a nationwide search, Dr. Murray was selected for his commitment to academic excellence, exceptional leadership skills and innovative vision. For bus drivers, no experience is required and training for your commercial driver’s license is provided while you work.
