?? Cyber threats evolve daily—staying ahead takes collaboration. Our SOC Manager, Zach Hogan, joined SecurityScorecard for an interactive training session yesterday, sharing insights on the latest cybersecurity trends and the critical role of a Security Operations Center (SOC) in protecting organizations. It was a great discussion on evolving threats, real-world defense strategies, and how a well-run SOC strengthens an organization’s security posture. ? At One Source, we don’t just defend our clients—we hold ourselves to the highest security standards. We leverage SecurityScorecard internally to assess our own security posture and risk level, ensuring we maintain the highest standards as a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP). Additionally, we use their platform to evaluate the security risk of both current and prospective vendors, helping us make informed decisions when selecting security tools. ? Thanks for including us! ? #Cybersecurity #SOCaaS #ThreatDetection #SOCLeadership #MSSP #SecurityOperations

?? Immediate patching is strongly recommended ?? On January 21, 2025, Microsoft announced the release of a critical security patch addressing a significant zero-click vulnerability impacting Microsoft Outlook. Tracked as CVE-2025-21298 (CVSS score: 9.9), the vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands or compromise sensitive data on a target system through specially crafted malicious emails. This zero-click flaw, which does not require user interaction, poses a severe risk to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of affected systems. This vulnerability impacts all supported versions of Microsoft Outlook on Windows. The flaw resides in how Outlook handles certain crafted email headers, potentially enabling attackers to exploit it without requiring users to open or preview an email. This vulnerability could be exploited for purposes such as credential theft, system compromise, and lateral movement within an organization’s network. Microsoft has issued an update addressing this flaw as part of its January 2025 Patch Tuesday release. Immediate patching is strongly recommended. Please contact the One Source SOC if your organization needs assistance.
