This week has been the hardest of my life, imagining that we wouldn’t be able to provide this vital service to our clients, all unaccompanied children in our state. I am relieved that we can get back to work, and I pray the contract is renewed next month. This work is important. Our clients are important and deserve representation.
The administration has rescinded HHS’s stop-work order, restoring vital legal services for unaccompanied children for now. This decision ensures that vulnerable children, some as young as toddlers, continue to receive critical protections against trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. But this fight isn’t over.
