关于我们

One for the World's mission to build a movement of people revolutionizing charitable giving to end extreme global poverty through education, training, and community building. Founded at Wharton in 2014, we now have over 700 members across the US, Canada, Australia and the UK; and many thousands who have pledged but not yet graduated. Charitable giving can be time consuming if people want to ensure that their money is going to highly effective charities. We minimize the effort by a) screening charities for you and b) allowing you to set up recurring donations. Set it and forget it! We have over 80 university chapters such as Wharton MBA, Penn Law, Penn Undergrad, Harvard Business School, Cambridge, St Andrews and the University of Melbourne. If you are interested in starting a chapter at your school, please email [email protected]. We also do talks for employees at major firms across the world - see corporate.1fortheworld.org for more information.

Voted favourite prof by graduating MBA class. Help lead charities in Toronto & Africa. Sold two startups. Led public company turnaround. Write best selling books.

INSPIRATION FROM ROTMAN TEDX TALKS A fabulous Rotman TedX session today. Some highlights: * Maggie Chen talking about the prehabilitation startup PrehabRX * Michael D'Alimonte discussing the challenges for serious journalism in a clickbait world. * Frankie Fredericks of One for the World who came from New York City to explain how effective giving can transform the impact of our charitable dollars. In his interview with Helen Dang, President of Rotman Graduate Business Council, Frankie made a compelling case for how GiveWell's research can channel giving to charities that make the most impact. He also encouraged the audience to commit 1% of income to help change lives. This is particularly pressing with the cutbacks in USAID funding that threatens advances in eradicating diseases like malaria. Frankie used a striking question to drive his point home. He asked the audience how many people died from smallpox in the 20th century? The answer - 300 million, compared to 120 million who died during wars. Global investment in vaccinations led to the eradication of smallpox, a humanity that had killed millions for centuries. Today we all have an opportunity to make a difference. I'm signing up for One for the World's 1% pledge and encourage you to join me. Meanwhile, kudos to the MBA students who have formed a One for the World chapter at Rotman. Together, we can make a difference that will alter lives.

Our COO Emma Cameron ?? shares a powerful metaphor: "For the price of a cup of coffee, you can change the world." In the U.S., a fancy coffee might cost $5 or even $10. But did you know that $5 can provide an antimalarial bed net for an entire family? This simple tool protects them from malaria, one of the deadliest diseases in the world. ?? Small sacrifices can make a huge difference. Why not start giving today? Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change. ?? #EffectiveGiving #SmallActionsBigImpact
