Connecting professionals, fostering collaboration, and advancing patient care—Coffee Talk, our clinical networking event, brings behavioral healthcare representatives and clinicians together to share knowledge and build meaningful relationships. We had a blast launching this event in Johnston County at @uglymugbeanbrew! The turnout was tremendous - we are grateful to everyone who attended. This event, we focused primarily on substance use and addiction as well as our substance use IOP launching next month presented by our Clinical Director of Substance Use IOP Services, Emily Fry, LCMHC, LCAS. Going forward, you can expect this event to recur bi-monthly spotlighting a guest speaker from a neighboring program or practice to share/educate on their specialty, treatment areas, and services. If you’d like to get connected to the next Coffee Talk, DM us! ?? Emily Fry Sarah R. Coates, LCMHC #networking #clinical #behavioralhealth

Meet Erin! ???? Erin Smith, LCMHC, is Site Leader of our Clayton office. At the office, when Erin isn’t offering support to our Clayton clinical team, she is busy seeing clients! Erin works with individuals of all ages but especially enjoys working with adolescents and adults, and specializes in the treatment of trauma with clinical experience in the areas of mood, anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, life transitions, and more. She offers mixed modalities like CBT, TF-CBT, parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), person-centered therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution focused therapy. Erin is open to all faiths and spiritual practices and meets clients where they are. She provides an open, safe space for growth and healing, and is interested in holistic approaches to complement traditional therapy. What excites Erin most about the work she does is working with her trauma clients and seeing how therapy moves them from one mindset and way of living to a drastically different one. ? Favorite Reads ?? : “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas. “The Grief Recovery Handbook” by Friedman & James. “The Spy School” Series by Stuart Gibbs (she reads this to her son at bedtime) ?? Favorite Quote ?? : “Not my circus, not my monkeys.” This reminds Erin that while she can assist and be a great support to others, their problems and choices are their own. ?? #therapist #mentalhealthawareness?? #counseling Erin Smith, LCMHC

“We absolutely appreciate JJ. He’s good-actually the best at his craft. He’s able to help me recenter/focus when my emotions are overflowing and all over the place. He’s patient. Also he is God sent for my hubby, able to pull it out while remaining caring, compassionate and empowering. He’s absolutely the best. He reads my nonverbal as well. We are on our way to restoring.” ? We love to hear it! Thankful for our clients today and everyday. #review #therapy #mentalhealth

Our Community Engagement Coordinator Sequoia Best had the honor of volunteering at Union Baptist Church’s Afterschool program to teach a group of fourth and fifth graders about positive affirmations, taking ownership of their story, and coping skills to deal with difficult feelings. ?? Using their very own affirmation journals, Sequoia led the group through an activity of writing positive affirmations such as “I am a leader”, “I am special”, and “I am loved.” ?? For many of the kids, this was the first time they learned about managing their mental health and having a positive mental attitude, both skills that will benefit their overall wellbeing as they continue to grow! Thanks for having us UBC! ?
