Farm-Fresh Taste Grows Here? ?? Organic snacks & meals with no added sugar. Trusted by parents and loved by little ones.

关于我们

In 2015, Cassandra Curtis founded Once Upon a Farm along with co-founder Ari Raz to create more nutritious, convenient, and delicious baby food options for her daughter that weren’t available in her local supermarket. After creating her own recipes and selling the first cold-pressed organic baby food at retail—she joined forces with industry legend and former Annie’s CEO John Foraker and actress, philanthropist, and mom of 3, Jennifer Garner, to create the next generation childhood nutrition company. We are now sold in more than 16,000 stores nationwide and online with a growing product portfolio of organic, farm-fresh snacks and meals for babies and big kids!

?? THE LIFE OF AN ORGANIC PUMPKIN ?? Fun Fact: Some of the pumpkins used in our seasonal blends this year were grown on Co-founder Jen Garner’s family farm in Oklahoma. Here’s a peek into the process (with a few steps condensed—there’s SO much more that goes into farming!). ?? STEP 1: COVER CROPS ?? Organic agriculture doesn’t use synthetic fertilizer, so instead we grow our own. Prepping for pumpkin season starts after last year’s harvest by planting a cover crop, like rye or peas. Cover crops protect add nutrients to the soil. They also help control weeds and increase biodiversity above and below ground. NOT PICTURED: Laying out drip irrigation and landscape fabric, which helps control weeds without chemicals and conserve water by limiting evaporation. ??? STEP 2: PLANT PUMPKIN SEEDS ??? In the video, you’ll see Farmer Jen and Uncle Robert using mulch hole burners to create evenly spaced holes in the fabric, in which they then plant the pumpkin seeds. ?? STEP 3: WATCH ‘EM GROW ?? Over the next few weeks—with plenty of water, air, and light—the seeds will start to sprout, and the leaves will rapidly grow into vines. ?? STEP 4: POLLINATORS ?? Once the plants start to flower, here comes a crucial* step: letting the pollinators do their thing. Bees are the most commonly known pollinators, but many other insects—and even small animals—can help pollinate plants. Organic agriculture is good for pollinators because it doesn’t use any toxic or persistent pesticides. *Without this, the flowers won’t actually produce pumpkins! ?? STEP 5: GROW, GROW, GROW ?? After pollination, the flowers will give way to little green pumpkins, which will grow larger and develop that signature orange hue over the next ~40–50 days. ?????? STEP 6: HARVEST TIME ?????? Once the pumpkins are fully matured, they’re ready to be harvested. Teamwork truly makes the dream work here! ?? STEP 7: PACK & SHIP ?? Boxes and boxes of yummy organic pumpkins are packed up and shipped to be prepped and blended into the delicious, limited-edition Farmer Jen’s Fruit & Veggie Blends.
