"My sister and I can’t say enough about the incredible care and therapy our dad received in On With Life's inpatient program. The progress he made there was truly amazing, and while we’re so happy to have him home, we honestly wish he could have stayed longer just to continue benefiting from the outstanding therapies they offer. On With Life is one of those places you hope you never need, but when you do, you realize just how lucky you are to have it close by. His recovery wouldn’t be where it is today without the dedication of the incredible staff—nurses, PCTs, therapists, and everyone in between. He formed real connections, not just with the staff but also with fellow patients and their families, which made all the difference in his journey. We will forever be grateful for our experience there and are so appreciative of the kindness and expertise we encountered every step of the way. And now, as he continues outpatient therapy at On With Life, we’re loving that, too! Thank you to everyone who played a role in his recovery—you’ve truly made a lasting impact on our family." Congratulations to Larry on his graduation from On With Life's inpatient program, and thank you to his daughter, Staci, for her kind words about their experience!

On With Life and the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa collectively shared their expertise at the 2025 International Stroke Conference in Los Angeles last month! Dan Logan and Allison Andrews were able to chat with conference attendees about their poster, "Service Navigation for Individuals with Stroke Proactively Referred to Neuro Resource Facilitation at Discharge from Inpatient Rehabilitation," which then ended up being accepted into the American Heart Association's Quality Showcase Poster Session. Congratulations to Dan and Allison on this accomplishment!

The halls of On With Life were full of staff wearing pink or green the other week as we celebrated "Flying Friday" - a day dedicated to Wicked that was completely planned by a person served. Kelsie had witnessed how tough it was to be at On With Life over the holidays but appreciated how staff went great lengths to make that time special by planning engaging events and activities. Kelsie loves to plan events herself and wanted to do something similar for her fellow persons served, so she planned a themed day based on her latest movie obsession. There was hat and crown decorating, an Elphaba battle cry contest, pink and green everything and of course, a movie showing. Kelsie planned the day in a way that everyone could be involved as little or as much as they wanted do, and was thrilled to see so many staff and persons served participate throughout the day. And, as most things are at On With Life, this event was a way for Kelsie to get excited about her own therapy. She was able to practice memory and coordination throughout the planning process, and decorated the building as part of her physical therapy. Thank you, Kelsie, for planning such a fun and special day. This Flying Friday will go down as a memorable day at On With Life!

Our principle of 'People First' doesn't just apply to those we serve - it also applies to our staff! That's why we have a dedicated employee engagement committee who plan staff outings and appreciation events. Most recently, this group but together Valentines for every staff member! Shoutout to this group for helping make On With Life a special place to work!
