Generally, between half and two-thirds of the brain is used for visual processing. When the visual system is not working properly, providing incorrect information to other somatosensory systems, it can dramatically interfere with our balance. When we are young, movement helps develop our visual system – when our brains our more mature – vision now guides balance How Vision Affects Balance 1. Your visual system provides information to the brain about your environment – position in space, obstacles present, etc. 2. This information combines with information from proprioceptors in your legs and feet to help the vestibular system know where you are in space 3. The vestibular system uses this information to tell your nerves and muscles where and how powerfully to move or react to keep you upright. If your visual system is faulty and provides poor or incorrect information, the whole system is thrown out of whack! Learn More about Balance Here -> https://lnkd.in/gSs_hEMF
