Air-cooled xenon arc lamps are not the better alternative to water-cooled lamps. At least not if you are running the water-cooled one with a failsafe closed-cycle systems as we use. ❄️ 🎥 Run below ambient for longer life and greater assurance against explosion using our closed-cycle water cooling system —watch now! #WaterCooledXeArc #AirCooledXeArc #ClosedCycleCooling #Protectyourlamp #OlisClarity

Internationally respected manufacturer of sustainable top-performance UV/Vis and NIR spectrophotometers for researchers
关于我们
Top-performance OLIS UV/Vis, NIR, and IR spectrophotometry systems for absorbance, fluorescence, circular dichroism (CD), circularly polarized luminescence (CPL), and phosphorescence lifetimes. A women-owned small business founded in the 1970s by a classically trained enzymologist (Dr. Richard J. DeSa), OLIS serves researchers who need more than yet another common-denominator mass-produced product. We upcycle great classics like the HP 8452 & 8453 Uv/Vis, the Cary 14 & 17 UV/Vis/NIR, PerkinElmer 983IR, and all of our own earlier instruments. Every OLIS is developed to advance your research using the best current technologies. Our CLARiTY UV/Vis models stand alone for suspension studies. With a CLARiTY, sample clarification is optional! 💡Modern LEDs under computer control are ideal illumination sources, especially as excitation sources. They are inexpensive, stable, and intense. Why use large, expensive, unstable xenon arc lamps through large and expensive monochromators when a tiny LED can do the job as well or better? ⚡ #CPLSolo #LEDsasExcitationSources #cheapersmallermorestable

UV/Vis spectroscopy + light scattering samples = What? Usually a mess! :) If there is value in characterizing samples with turbidity in your lab, take time to learn how the integrating cavity (not integrating sphere) allows you to do pathlength correct absorption studies on all light-absorbing samples, not just those in clear buffer. ⬇️ www.olisclarity.com #UvVisSpectrophotometry #spectroscopyinsuspensions #nothingescapesmeasurement #scatterdoesnotmatter

For the brightest and most controllable excitation, there's lasers, of course, but also LEDs. We are huge supporters of LEDs for excitation sources when one wants brightness, stability, economy. 💡We choose them for our CPL and Phosphorescence Lifetime systems. #CPLspectroscopy #phosphorescencelifetime #lightemittingdiodes

For CPL and phosphorescence, should your instrument use a xenon arc lamp or something much smaller, cheaper, & brighter? 🧐 We are fans of the wonderful little LEDs operated under OLIS electronics and computerization. Watch a short bit on this: 🎥 #lightemittingdiodes #LEDs #stablecheapcontrollable

Some companies make a big thing of "air-cooled" lamps. Water-cooling, however, keeps the lamp cooler. which extends the lifespan. And, when the lamp power supply runs through the water-cooling system, the lamp is turned off immediately if there is any compromise in the cooling. An exploding lamp is a major annoyance. The lamp costs a lot to replace and the lamp housing might suffer real damage. All this costs you time and money. Air-cooled systems leave your lamp more vulnerable than a good water-cooling system. Don't be put off by "water-cooled." It's the better choice. We use water-cooled for our 150 and 450-watt lamp assemblies with our fail-safe closed cycle cooling boxes. Lamps last longer and never explode due to overheating. #watercooledlamp #aircooledlamp #XeArcLampCooling

👀Peltier holders are modern, all electronic, and ideal for many cases. But what if your situation is satisfied with something more basic for maintaining your sample's temperature? Let's not forget about the water bath! A high-quality jacketed cuvette holder plus an analog or digital water bath could be just right. Here's our water-jacketed cuvette holder; watch the video to learn more. 🎥 #temperaturedependentstudies #waterbath #jackettedcuvetteholder #UVVisspectrophotometer

Why investing in an old-school UV/Vis might be your best decision: 👀 Dual-wavelength spectrophotometers are the gold standard historic choice for P450 and other light scattering samples which are optically of interest in the visible region. #UVVisspectroscopy #turbidsamplestudies #amincodw2 #dualwavelengthspectroscopy
