OmniTRAX Deploys Nation's First Battery-Electric Locomotive into Revenue Service OmniTRAX, Inc. is proud to announce that its Ohio rail affiliate, Newburgh & South Shore Railroad (NSR), has placed the first battery-electric locomotive (BEL) into revenue service in the U.S. This historic achievement marks a major step forward for sustainable freight rail operations, setting a new standard for the industry. The AMPS Traction G9 locomotive, with 1,700 gross horsepower, is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining efficiency and reliability for freight operations. Dedicated in memory of Steve Ward, OmniTRAX's longest-serving employee, the new locomotive exemplifies our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. Thanks to support from the Ohio EPA and Governor Mike DeWine, this historic project was made possible through the Diesel Mitigation Trust Fund. OmniTRAX Expands Operations in California's Central Coast We’re thrilled to announce that OmniTRAX, Inc. has entered into a joint venture for the Santa Maria Valley Railroad (SMVR), marking the 29th addition to our national rail network. Located between Los Angeles and San Francisco, this railroad provides Central Coast Valley businesses with a vital freight connection to key coastal ports and the North American Rail Freight Network. "The Santa Maria Railroad plays a critical role in California’s supply chains, and this acquisition is another key step in the expansion of the OmniTRAX Rail Network," said OmniTRAX EVP Nathan Brown. "Our agreement with Coast Belle Rail Corporation marks our first rail joint venture acquisition.
