[#IndustrySpotlight] This year has started off with a blast with successful launches from Blue Origin, ARIANESPACE, and RocketLab. It takes a lot to complete these missions, and engineers must take care of an impossibly long list of failure modes. One of the most common subcomponents in a rocket are valves. Failing to reseal will result in a mission-ending propulsion leak. Therefore, #aerospace valves and their sealing elements must be manufactured to ultra-high precision and withstand extreme temperatures, fluids, vibration and pressures. Growing regulations over PFAS materials bring on another challenge regarding sealing technologies, which is why our #space team custom designed an #Omniseal PFAS-Free* spring-energized seal using a new polyimide-based material (the G45).
