Throughout my 30-year career in the employment screening business, we have used several county courthouse research companies for criminal records. Unfortunately, we have never found a company that values our time and business. Several months ago, we brought in Omni Data Retrieval on a trial basis. During this time, OMNI has proven very effective, bringing a unique value to our business that we have not experienced with other companies. Here are three things that I like about OMNI: 1) Human Interaction: Unlike many companies that hide behind voicemails/emails or ticketing systems, you can speak to a human when you call OMNI’s Minnesota offices. When dealing with complex information that can adversely affect a person's hiring, I appreciate being able to talk to someone. 2) Responsiveness: OMNI's speed of response is truly impressive. You can get an email response to a question the same day, often within an hour or so, and the email is cogent, substantive, and professionally written. This level of efficiency is a testament to the dedication of OMNI's employees, which reassures me of their commitment to their clients and instills confidence in their services. 3) Quality Work Product: As a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA), we are dedicated to assuring maximum possible accuracy for our clients, and I can tell that OMNI is too. With the redaction of personal identifying information for privacy and second-chance hiring laws sweeping the nation, using multiple identifiers to link a criminal record to a person is good practice. When available, OMNI will add other identifiers beyond the standard name and date of birth, which is critical for those persons with a common surname. This also tells me that OMNI has trained its researchers correctly on thinking critically, thus lessening the need for constant back-and-forth between the CRA and the research company. I have never written a recommendation/testimonial for a research company before, nor did anyone at OMNI ask me. However, given how impressed I have been with OMNI compared to other research companies we have had over the years, I felt compelled to do so. I eagerly look forward to many more years with OMNI Data Retrieval as our strategic partner in navigating the evolving process of researching county courthouses. Our extensive client base appreciates our commitment to excellence, and OMNI is a big part of that. I am optimistic about the future and the value OMNI will continue to bring to our business.
