Omaha Public Schools offers a variety of career choices and opportunities. Omaha Public Schools is the largest school district in the state of Nebraska serving over 54,000 students in grades K-12. Our district has 83 schools and 13 alternative programs across Douglas and Sarpy Counties. Programs include Omaha Virtual School, Special Education and English Learners. Our district is the third-largest employer in the state, with more than 7,000 full-time employees who are involved in the daily operation of our schools. Teachers, bus drivers, nutrition staff, paraprofessionals, operations and other staff are all an essential part of educating students. No matter your interest, Omaha Public Schools has a career opportunity for just about everyone. Our teaching staff has an average of 12 years experience and more than 63 percent hold advanced degrees. Professional development is a recognized essential part of all staff.
