Saturday, May 17 is the 2025 Aksarben Tirc presented by Visit Omaha –?and we're excited. Cyclists will turn Omaha's Aksarben Village into their race track during a high-speed bike race, called a criterium, at the inaugural Aksarben Tirc. More than 500 top-notch cyclists are expected to ride the 1-mile loop exceeding speeds of 35 mph in this bicycle road race. By hosting this prestigious cycling event, Omaha aims to attract visitors and promote the city as a vibrant and active community passionate about sports and outdoor activities, showcasing Omaha as a hub for local, regional and national sporting events. Visit Omaha's “What Kind of Traveler Are You?” influencer campaign won the Outstanding Marketing Campaign award at the 2025 Nebraska Tourism Industry Awards. The campaign focused on curated travel itineraries based on traveler types and generated over seven million impressions and five million video views, helping showcase Omaha as a premier destination. #VisitOmaha

Omaha’s growing visitor economy is reflected in the latest milestone at Omaha Airport Authority as 5.27 million passengers traveled through the airport in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels and setting a new all-time record. This 5% increase over 2023 underscores Omaha’s rising demand as a destination for both business and leisure travel. To support this growth, construction on the Build OMA Terminal Modernization Program is in full swing and will enhance the traveler experience with: ?? A single, unified concourse with a centralized TSA checkpoint ?? Two additional gates to accommodate increased traffic ?? A new Customs and Border Protection hall for international arrivals ?? Expanded terminal space—growing from 375,000 to 646,000 square feet Travelers should note that starting Feb. 17, Eppley will temporarily operate with two separate terminals as construction progresses.
