Oma Care (YC W24) helps you get paid for taking care of your loved ones. Last year, family caregivers in the US provided $600B in unpaid care to their loved ones. This situation is largely due to a severe nursing shortage and skyrocketing in-home care costs, forcing many to leave their jobs to provide care full-time. Yet, most caregivers don’t realize they qualify for government compensation programs, largely because the application and eligibility requirements for these programs are long and confusing. Oma Care unlocks a way for the 53 million family caregivers in the US to be paid up to $60k/year for caregiving tasks they're already performing, from feeding to medication reminders. It automates the enrollment process, offers free personalized training and care plans, and pays the caregivers to ensure they’re well-supported. Founded by Arianna Galbraith, MPH, who has frontline clinical experience and health policy expertise (MPH @ Columbia, Med & Pharmacology @ McGill) and James Galbraith, a former Amazon software engineer?(Comp Sci @ NYU). Together they previously scaled a medical equipment business to $24M ARR and have both been caregivers to their loved ones.
