    Since I left Amazon to start Olto, I’ve had the privilege of discussing the trade-offs between launching a startup and staying in a corporate role with 30+ execs from companies like Amazon, Google, Meta, Netflix, and LinkedIn. While every situation is unique, three key insights resonated consistently: 1. Opportunity cost is lowest now: The best time to start is now—opportunity costs only rise over time. 2. It’s reversible: Starting a company is a two-way door. If it doesn’t work out, you can often return to a similar role. 3. Regret minimization: If there’s a problem you’re passionate about solving, and entrepreneurship is the way, you owe it to yourself to try.
