The Bay FC Training Facility’s design combines sports science with a warm, residential sensibility to set new standards in innovation, peak performance, and supporting the total health of athletes. The architecture incorporates human-scaled proportions, natural materials, and central courtyards to create a bright, well-ventilated environment that enhances performance and fosters a sense of home. Recently, Rice University announced it will break ground on the Moody Center Complex for Student Life, its newest campus addition led by design principals Alan Maskin, LEED AP ID+C, Kirsten Murray, FAIA, and Blair Payson, AIA, LEED AP. The new student center’s design responds to the university campus context, weaving a series of outdoor gathering and learning spaces throughout the building to blur the boundary of the interior and exterior. As a dynamic hub for student activities, it will foster connection and interaction among Rice students and the broader community. Thanks to The Architect's Newspaper for featuring the newest addition to Stanford University’s campus, an administrative building for the Center for Advanced Study in Behavioral Sciences (CASBS). Led by design principal Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA, the building is the first new structure on the CASBS campus since 1954.
