This summer I had the opportunity to work as an intern for the Hendersonville Honeycrisps! The Honeycrisp are a collegiate summer baseball team located in Hendersonville, NC and play in the Old North State League.?
The best part of my experience was being able to plan, create, and execute social media content for the team, alongside Flannery Newman! I designed gameday graphics, score update graphics, and promotional graphics for Facebook, X, and Instagram that were both informational and highly entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed showing off my creativity through the team's Tiktok page by having the players participate in answering “Questions Of The Day”, which they ended up loving by the end of the season. There were a few videos that ended up going viral and that was fun to see my work catch so much attention!
Other than social media, I also had the opportunity to take over various General Manager responsibilities, including maintaining community partnerships, managing ticket sales, and executing gameday operations. I learned a lot throughout this internship that has given me real world experience that can be applied to many aspects of my life and future career.?
I made the most of my experience in Hendersonville by traveling with the team to the away games. Not only did I get to see most of Western North Carolina, I also learned a lot about baseball by being right in the thick of it. Growing up in a football family, I only knew the basics about baseball. Now that I've learned more, I understand why everyone loves the sport.
I’m so thankful for all the great people I was able to meet this summer! I will cherish this summer for the rest of my life!
