Happy Science Education Day! The OFE team got to spend time in a science classroom earlier this week when we visited the @Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine to honor Dr. Jennifer Rudd, the 2025 recipient of the Medal for Excellence in Research University Teaching. Recognizing and Encouraging Academic Excellence in Oklahoma's Public Schools.
关于我们
We are a statewide nonprofit that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in Oklahoma's public schools. Through our flagship Academic Awards Program, OFE presents $175,000 annually to honor outstanding public school seniors as Academic All-Staters and exceptional educators as Medal for Excellence recipients. OFE also helps strengthen grassroots support for public schools through its Oklahoma School Foundations Network, which provides free training, resources and networking opportunities for new and established school foundations. Each May, OFE hosts the Academic Awards Celebration, where we honor Academic All-Staters, Medal for Excellence recipients and the winners of OSFN's Outstanding Program Awards for School Foundations. OFE also promotes the growth and development of quality youth mentoring statewide through grants for new and existing K-12 mentoring programs. We also partner with two national organizations, Fund for Teachers and the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute, to offer quality professional development opportunities for Oklahoma Educators.

Congratulations to Academic All-Stater Reese Wood of Sand Springs Public Schools!
Congratulations to Charles Page High School senior Reese Wood on being named an Academic All-State honoree by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence! This honor recognizes Reese as one of the top 100 high school seniors in the state. “All of the teachers are suddenly cheering for me whenever I’m walking to my classes,” Reese shared, reflecting on the overwhelming support from his school community. "I didn't realize how much of a big deal it was, so yeah, I'm super excited about that." Heather Miller, Reese’s AP English Literature teacher, praised his character and achievements, saying, “Think of all the traits of a successful human who betters the world around them through their presence, their abilities, and their acts of service. Then, super-boost those traits and stitch all those super-boosted traits together, and that is Reese Wood. I am so proud that we are able to call Reese Wood a Sandite, and I am so grateful I have had the chance to know him and see the amazing things he is capable of.” Once Reese finishes his high school career, he plans to continue his passion for filmmaking at the University of Tulsa, where he will pursue a degree in film studies.
