Okkanti is a digital platform that brings together industry experts, compassionate mentors and our collective knowledge so that more doulas and families have a voice in their communities. The idea for this community was born from the direct experiences of doulas, lactation consultants and postpartum care providers, and the belief that mindfulness-based caregiving is needed more in the healthcare industry. Ultimately, we are driven by the goal to improve maternal health outcomes by transforming the doula industry to make care more accessible to more families. Together, we can make the birthing process safer, more compassionate and supported for every family.

? What's your True North? ? As a social impact organization, we encounter lots of decisions. Who do we partner with and how? What is our pricing strategy? What guides a hiring decision, or the everyday ways of working in our company? How do we resolve conflict, or respond to feedback? Who will be our investors? We know that the Okkanti community of birthworkers and health equity organizations face all these big and little questions everyday. We've found that when we have a clear sense of who we are and what we stand for, and it's really embedded in our DNA, these decisions become easier.
