This Women's History Month, we honor Patty Cox Hampton, a trailblazer whose impact on our organization and baseball in Oklahoma City is immeasurable. Last season, Patty was inducted into the Oklahoma City Triple-A Baseball Hall of Fame for her invaluable contributions to the franchise. As one of baseball’s first female general managers, she earned numerous accolades, including three American Association Executive of the Year awards and the title of Woman Executive of the Year across all of baseball in 1978. From 1977 to 1989, Patty served as co-owner, president, and general manager of the 89ers, playing a pivotal role in keeping the team in Oklahoma City. Her dedication and leadership helped shape the franchise into what it is today.
