The first shoes ever made are approximately 10,000 years old. Initially created to protect feet from harsh terrain, sharp objects and extreme weather. Over the time, shoes evolved to incorporate comfort, style and cultural significance. Today we have a wide variety of different kind of shoes. ?? But somehow the pursuit of greater comfort brought about the creation of cushioned shoes, which, while soft and comfortable, can restrict the body's natural movement while walking. Also the emphasis on style led to the design of narrow-fronted shoes that limit the toes' ability to strengthen and move freely. Which all has an impact on the natural functionality of the feet and unfortunately can cause back pain and severe damages. ?? At OHNE we understand the importance of proper footwear in modern life, however, we also recognize the desire for modern designs. That is why we create comfortable, barefoot shoes with all the great benefits that look like nice, regular shoes.

?? ?? ?? OUR FIRST COLLABORATION 2024 was a year full of "first times", for the brand OHNE but also for us personally at OHNE. We discovered new things, we learned about new things and we tried out new things. Everything for the very first time. And so we also had our very first collab with a sustainable fashion brand. We collaborated with our dear friends from Clotsy Brand and came up with an entire outfit consisting of a retro style tracksuit in two color ways, matching socks and, of course, OHNE barefoot sneakers. All items were limited and most of it sold out in no time. We are so grateful for this great success and are looking forward to future collabs.

And why would we squeeze our feet into shoes that are generally too narrow and small for our foot shape? It is a good question, because many of us have been wearing normal shoes for all this years without even thinking about its damages. For us it was the same. Until we had kids that started walking and we searched for good, anatomic shoes that would not cause any harm on those little, virgin baby feet. And soon we realized, why our child and not us? Had we really been squeezing our feet into shoes that were too small our entire life? We were hooked and desperately needed alternatives. So we went online and searched for barefoot sneakers but we could not find any that matched our style. We felt uncomfortable wearing shoes that looked almost like clown shoes or that were not vegan, or just did not match with us. There was only one solution. We had to make them ourselves! Welcome to our project. Welcome to the OHNE Project. We are happy to see you around and connect with you =)

?? Did you know where the name OHNE comes from? When we set out to create our brand, we wanted a name that captured the essence of what barefoot shoes represent: freedom, connection, and the purest form of movement. That is how OHNE PROJECT was born. The word OHNE means "without" in German, reflecting the liberating sensation of walking in barefoot shoes - like walking without shoes at all. It is about stripping away the unnecessary, getting closer to nature, and allowing your feet to move the way they were designed to. In OHNE shoes, you can feel the ground beneath you, your toes have the space they need to spread naturally, and your feet can flex, bend and move with full freedom. Our name is a reminder to let go of the excess and enjoy the beauty and simplicity of feeling grounded without compromise.
