I had the privilege of attending the Peter Mergert Exhibition celebration event at Hopkins Hall at the Ohio State University. This event was to honor the lives of Peter and Ursula Mergert and their impact on Ohio State Design and the design community as a whole. Thank you to David Woods and Axel Roesler for introducing me to members of the community and recounting their memories with Peter and Ursula Mergert. It was a great experience getting to learn about my predecessors in the design community and how they have shaped the path for many more designers to come. Shoutout to my design professors William Nickley and Sebastien Proulx for their support and encouragement to expand the design community!

The $1,000 John Fergus Family Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students at Ohio State enrolled in a degree-granting program in the Departments of Art, Arts Administration, Education and Policy (AAEP), Design, and History of Art. Scholarship winners will receive $1,000 and will exhibit their work at the annual Fergus Scholarship Award Exhibition at Hopkins Hall Gallery in January 2025.
