Historic gaps in research, bias in treatment and a lack of inclusive care models have created mistrust between some women and their healthcare providers. To continue transforming women’s care, providers and systems must prioritize listening to women, actively involving them in discussions about their care and integrating their feedback into medical education and practice. Our experts – Dr. Tucker, Kristina Stuecher, Lucy Bucher D.O. and Dr. Patel – discuss how they’re prioritizing women’s voices in the future of care: ohlth.co/4iUccyA. #WomensHistoryMonth #BelieveInWe

When you’re involved in a traumatic accident, so much can change in a split second. As Doctor’s Day approaches, we’re sharing an inspirational story of compassion and commitment that built a lasting relationship between a patient and her trauma surgeon. Stephanie Murphy was in an ATV accident that altered her life, and her surgeon, Joseph Scheschuk, DO, helped her through it by providing exceptional care during her recovery and beyond. Their story is just one of the endless examples of healthcare providers making a difference every day. To all our physicians, we thank you. In the words of Dr. Scheschuk, “It's a privilege to be able to take care of people when they're at their greatest need.” This Doctors’ Day, honor a caregiver who has impacted your life at ohlth.co/doctorsday. #BelieveInWe #DoctorsDay #GratefulPatient #OhioHealthFoundation

One of the most common misconceptions about palliative care is that it means the patient is giving up. Morgan Wiland-Gress, an advanced practice provider in palliative care at OhioHealth, discusses how palliative care isn’t about replacing curative treatments – it’s about complementing them by addressing physical symptoms, emotional well-being and overall quality of life. We officially celebrated the opening of Grant Family Medicine’s new office this past Wednesday! Just two blocks from its previous location, this ambulatory site is part of OhioHealth Grant Medical Center’s greater campus transformation. Grant Family Medicine has supported the Columbus community for over 50 years – providing primary care services for all ages and a walk-in clinic that brings convenient access to care for downtown residents. It’s also home to Grant’s transition of care clinic and offers a clinical learning environment for 36 family medicine resident physicians. “Our physicians and advanced practice providers create a space that values and supports every patient,” said Alysia Herzog, MD, Grant Family Medicine Residency Program Director. “We specialize in caring for the entire family through all phases of life. This new location will allow us to continue to deliver compassionate, comprehensive and personalized care to patients and families with expanded services to better meet the needs of our community.” ohlth.co/4iFk7PY I #OhioHealthGrant2028

Sawubona – the zulu greeting meaning “I see you”. This one word resonated through our International Women’s Day event last week. Hosted by the WE L.E.A.D. BRG, an associate-led group that supports the diverse needs of all women at OhioHealth, this signature event empowered attendees to help others feel seen and valued. Thank you to keynote speaker Toshia Safford, President and CEO at The Center for Healthy Families, for bringing this community together with such a powerful message.
