We’d like to share a very special moment from Hockey Fights Cancer last night. OhioHealth cancer survivors proudly rang a bell to symbolize they are cancer-free – while artist Molly Oldham beautifully performed her original song ‘Mighty in Me’ about her own cancer journey. Their collective resilience through diagnosis, treatment and remission is inspiring. It's an honor to be a part of this powerful evening with the Columbus Blue Jackets every November. Thank you to all who showed up in the fight against cancer. #KeepMakingPlans I #HockeyFightsCancer

Last week, more than 400 trauma surgeons, nurses, EMS teams and providers who care for the severely injured patients gathered for the annual OhioHealth Trauma Conference. Hosted by the OhioHealth Trauma Network, the day included panel discussions, simulations and presentations about topics such as mass casualty planning and triage, orthopedic trauma and treating the aging population. We’re proud to partner with trauma caregivers and first responders from across the state to share innovative and evidence-based knowledge to continue to deliver expert care to all in emergency situations.

OhioHealth leaders from across the system gather twice a year to connect, celebrate and learn. Nearly 1,700 leaders attended the OhioHealth Leadership Briefing (OLB) this past Wednesday at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Keynote speaker, Werten Bellamy, inspired managers with his insight on how “connections start with you”. Connecting with those you lead involves building habits that matter – so that your team feels valued, sees their purpose and wants to continue working for your organization. If you attended, what was one of your favorite moments or takeaways? #BelieveinWe

OhioHealth is the first in Columbus to offer two new technologies for breast cancer patients – Magtrace? and Sentimag?. These advancements allow for more precise detection and removal of cancer, reducing unnecessary surgeries. “Cancer patients often go through so much stress in terms of surgeries, appointments and the general unknown,” said Deepa Halaharvi, DO, OhioHealth breast and cancer surgeon. “Anytime we can ease their journey in any way and potentially avoid a surgery is going to be a benefit to the patient and help them avoid that recovery and side effects, when possible.” Read more about these life-changing surgical innovations: ohlth.co/4ec1VdL. #OhioHealthLeads #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth
