Working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.

关于我们

Founded in 1919, Ohio Farm Bureau is a grassroots membership organization that works to support Ohio agriculture and the state’s food and farm community. Along with establishing great companies like Nationwide, Ohio Farm Bureau has impacted agriculture by advocating for reasonable government policy, developed opportunities for young farmers, supported local food initiatives, and funded efforts to protect the environment, water quality, and farmland preservation. Today, it doesn't matter if you grow food or purchase it, Ohio Farm Bureau invites you to work with your neighbors to enhance the quality of life in your community and celebrate the unique ways agriculture touches our lives. Mission: Working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities. The final day of the 2025 County Presidents’ Trip included breakfast with Zippy Duvall, president of American Farm Bureau Federation. He acknowledged that with the warmer weather, many in the room were thinking about everything they could be doing back home in their farms, but the work they are doing in Washington this week is equally valuable. In addition to meeting with representatives on Capitol Hill during the 2025 County Presidents Trip, Ohio Farm Bureau members will also get some time with members of the Senate. Wednesday’s activities kicked off with Sen. Jon Husted and Sen. Bernie Moreno, who joined Ohio Farm Bureau members over breakfast. Following breakfast, county presidents took their messages to Congressional leaders, which included the clarity and certainty that can be gained with a new 5-year farm bill, extending current estate tax laws and the importance of trade for farmers in Ohio and across the country. The afternoon included a visit to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where Ohio Farm Bureau members heard from USDA Chief Economist Seth Meyer and heard about the history and importance of agricultural trade. Additionally, members learned about recent trends the industry is witnessing with our trading partners around the world from Jason Hafemeister, USDA acting deputy secretary, trade and foreign affairs.

More than 50% of Ohio’s soybean crop is exported each year, making soybeans Ohio’s largest agricultural export. Finding more places to send Ohio-grown soybeans is one of the missions of the Ohio Soybean Council and some Ohio soy representatives just returned from a trip to a country that could offer a great opportunity for soybean farmers – Ghana. Plus, pig farmers could be seeing some profits in 2025, which would be a very welcomed shift from years of losses to the bottom-line.
