Anyone who has served in their country knows how challenging it can be to hang up the uniform and join civilian life again. Jason Molnar, founder of Infinity Labs, knows this feeling firsthand. Since co-founding the Dayton-based company three-and-a-half years ago, he’s seen his company grow to 70 employees, many of whom are military veterans. “We have found a lot of success in the organic culture, some of that camaraderie they are used to, looking to the left and the right and finding folks who share of the same struggles, trials, and tribulations. That's been one of our key aspects to recruiting, it feels like home, and that's a very hard feeling to find, leaving the service,” said Jason Molnar. Ohio roads are about to get a whole lot safer. ?? The Ohio Department of Transportation is sponsoring a project, led by American Honda Motor Company, Inc.. and the University of Cincinnati researchers, to study whether artificial intelligence can automatically collect, analyze and report road hazards. The goal of the two-year project is to start using anonymized data mass collected from camera-equipped cars and AI algorithms to pinpoint road hazards in real time. "Integrating vehicle data into our operations has the potential to be a game-changer when it comes to better serving Ohio drivers and increasing roadway safety for all,” DriveOhio Executive Director Preeti Choudhary said. Cleveland’s AmpliFund believes it can forever change a $700 billion industry. “On average, 40% of every grant dollar spent goes to administration, which basically means today we’re spending $320 billion to manage $480 billion. … So over time, if we can reduce the admin piece by 30%, think of what we can do with $100 billion. It goes into roads, education, health care and our kids. That’s the impact we can make if we’re truly successful.” Read how this exciting Ohio startup is aiming high and thinking about big change in an industry that needs it. https://lnkd.in/gPY-s6Ff #Cleveland #GrantFunding #OhioTech #OhioStartups #TechEntrepreneurs #InnovationOhio

To rise above the rest, one central Ohio city is doing all it can to invite innovative ideas to its community. “It’s not just saying that you’re open to private-public partnerships. It’s really about your culture and your rules and regulations for doing it. It’s one thing to say you’re open to it, but if it takes you six months or mountains of paperwork to do it, you’re not going to be successful, particularly when you’re working with entrepreneurs. They want to get their ideas out there, and they’re passionate. So we have to make it easy to be partners and be open with what we have.” Read how the Hilliard City Lab in the City of Hilliard, Ohio USA is rethinking public-private partnership. https://lnkd.in/g4ThE_Gw #OhioTech #Hilliard #TechInOhio #StartupCommunity #InnovationOhio #TechIndustry
