OSC’s new cluster, Cardinal, has been ranked No. 15 on the Green500 list, recognizing the most energy-efficient high performance computing (HPC) systems worldwide. ???? Cardinal’s direct-to-chip liquid cooling system reduces power consumption while supporting cutting-edge AI, machine learning and data analysis work. “OSC has strived to find innovative solutions to energy consumption and cooling issues as we develop more powerful HPC clusters to meet client needs.” – Doug Johnson, OSC associate director Learn how OSC is driving sustainable HPC solutions: https://lnkd.in/e85EsCXc

Michigan State University is making HPC more accessible across a wide range of disciplines, thanks to the deployment of Open OnDemand. With funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), MSU developed the Data Machine, a powerful research computing resource designed for large data analysis, AI and machine learning through the MSU Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research. The university is working to expand its use beyond traditional fields like computer science to include disciplines such as spatial ecology, mechanical engineering and social sciences. By implementing the Open OnDemand web portal, MSU has made it easier for faculty, graduate students and postdocs to access HPC resources and streamline their research. https://lnkd.in/gyin5Ucw
