As we welcome the New Year, the Ohio Lake Erie Commission reflects on a year of meaningful progress! In 2024, we made great strides in protecting and preserving Lake Erie, including a few highlights: ??Successfully removed 3 Beneficial Use Impairments (BUIs) from the Maumee, Cuyahoga, and Black River Areas of Concern (AOCs) ??Completed the 2023 Ohio Domestic Action Plan (DAP) ??Awarded nearly $200K in grant funding through the Lake Erie Protection Fund to support projects addressing challenges like changing weather, invasive species, and nutrient pollution. Thank you to our partners, communities, and supporters for making this year a success! Here’s to even more milestones in 2025 as we continue our mission to protect Lake Erie for future generations. ??
