Thank you to our partners from Wellogy for these photos that shine a spotlight on the progress in February at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds.?? ? Here are some highlights of recent and ongoing work being done as part of Phase 1 of the Expo 2050 Master Plan: ? Ohio Showcase Building ??- The majority of the structural steel has been placed, including the frame, second floor metal deck, metal roof deck, and other structural components. ??- Iron workers are securing connections, welding key joints, and adjusting anchor bolts to ensure structural stability. ??- Plumbing piping under the first floor has been placed. ??- Two steel plates that were signed by Expo 2050 partners were installed.?? ? Multi-purpose agriculture building ??- The bulk of structural steel has been placed. ??- The steel framework, extended steel joists, and metal roof deck were installed at the large exhibit hall area. ??- Under slab plumbing installation continues. ??- Beams that were signed by Expo 2050 partners were mounted. ? Misc. ??- Renovations have begun at the Dairy Building with demolition work happening. ??- Concrete foundations have been laid at the new Entry Gate. ??- Work is still in progress at the new ticket booths. ??- Underground utility work is underway. Both the Ohio Showcase Building and multi-purpose agriculture building are slated for completion in 2026. Is there a better way to kick off the new year than learning from local industry professionals? Such a great time attending the annual Ohio Fair Managers Association Convention. A few members of our staff, as well as the Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board, presented on topics such as succession planning, concession contracts and communication, marketing and advertising, and all things Junior Fair Board. A strong start to 2025!????

What is the Institute of Fair Management? Per IAFE, the mission of?the Institute of Fair Management?is to enhance the professional development of the employees of member fairs and expositions by providing education and training in areas of core competency necessary for the operations of today's fairs, large or small. The core competency areas in which the courses of the Institute focus include management, risk management, marketing, programming, operations, and facility usage.
