The Northeast Reintegration Center's Warden, Staci Smith, and Warden's Assistant, Sharon Luke, participated in the Akron Marathon Relay. Excellent work, ladies!

Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division, and Juvenile Branch members visited our Correctional Reception Center for a focus group with juvenile offenders. We appreciate our community partners taking the time to learn about our operations.

It's been a difficult year for staff at Pickaway Correctional Institution, but they aren't alone. Staff from the Correctional Reception Center, PCI's sister institution, surprised them with a cookout to show their support. Kudos to the CRC staff for stepping up for their DRC family!

Please join us in congratulating DRC's latest Employee of the Month, Tom Guyer. Parole Officer Tom Guyer (Cleveland APA) was conducting a routine visit with a supervisee earlier this summer. Upon arrival, he discovered someone experiencing a medical emergency. PO Guyer took control of the scene and instructed bystanders to assist him in performing CPR and to call 911. His quick thinking saved a life that day, making him our newest #EmployeeoftheMonth.

Chillicothe Correctional Institution recently presented its Day Treatment Program Summer Concert Family Engagement event. Under the guidance of CCI's mental health staff, the DTP music program performed various songs for the incarcerated individuals' families and guests. Following the concert, the incarcerated individuals enjoyed a meal with their guests.?

Recently, 24 ODRC staff members completed the 80-hour Special Response Team (SRT) training course. Pickaway Correctional Institution's Tauheed Mitchell was presented with the Bradley Mann Award, representing his perseverance and determination during the course.

Today, London Correctional Institution celebrated a major milestone: 100 years! Retirees, staff, and those whose lives have been changed at this facility showed up to celebrate the event. LoCI staff unveiled a new monument to mark the occasion. Thank you to all the staff members over the decades who have helped make London Correctional Institution what it is today.

Special Operations held its annual Step Up training at the Corrections Training Academy. Step Up is a training event in which the SRT (Special Response Team) team from each institution participates in 16 challenges. This year, Noble Correctional Institution took first place for overall best performance. Congratulations to each team for their hard work; we can't wait to see how you do next year!
