Faculty spotlight! ? This week we are highlighting Dr. Vic Matta, an Associate Professor in the Analytics and Information Systems department. With the Executive Education program, Vic teaches Agile Project Management, and outside of the program he teaches on various topics for the university, including AI Intelligence in Business, Data Storytelling, Strategic Use of Analytics, and Business Consulting. ? Vic has said that his favorite part of our Executive Education programming is how rewarding it is to see the learning and development of our participants. Though the sessions can be long and intense, the sustained engagement and active learning that participants are able to learn from one another is both valuable and contemporary. Additionally, through participating in our programs, professionals are able to engage with top-notch faculty who are dedicated to ensuring high-quality learning outcomes. Our faculty stay on top of the latest developments in business and incorporate these developments into their sessions. ? Coming up, Vic is excited to witness a newly upgraded program that includes well refined sessions and active learning techniques. Faculty spotlight! ? We are proud to introduce?Dr. Jitendra Tayal, a faculty member who plays a key role in?the finance track of our?LAIOB programs. Jitendra specializes in investments and capital markets and enjoys sharing his expertise on portfolio management, decentralized finance, and cryptocurrencies. His research focuses on the behavior and market impact of short sellers and mechanics of options and other derivative market instruments. Jitendra chooses to actively engage in research to stay at the forefront of financial innovations, which helps him to bring cutting-edge insights into all of his teachings. He brings in crucial knowledge for executives looking to understand market dynamics and how to make informed decisions in both personal and corporate settings. ? Jitendra's primary goal?when working with professionals is?to help them grasp how investor behavior affects market efficiency and develop effective short and long-term trading strategies. He achieves this goal through sharing his knowledge of fundamental concepts and their practical market applications, while also learning from the diverse experiences of the students. Faculty spotlight! ? This week we are highlighting Dr. Adam Hepworth! Dr. Hepworth serves as a faculty coach for our Sogeti programs. Outside of his work with the Executive Education program, Dr. Hepworth serves as the Associate Director of CIBED as well as the Associate Director for our Center for Consumer Research & Analytics. ? Dr. Hepworth believes that young professionals should participate to engage with at a cross-cultural experience and learn about rapidly transforming technology. These practices keep both faculty and participants apprised with what is going on in the business world. Dr. Hepworth has stated that his favorite part of the program is watching such a large transformation of the YP's in such a short period of time. These students enter the program fairly novice with developing and selling business ideas, and by the end of the program they are able to better articulate and position their ideas. ? Every year Dr Hepworth gets excited to meet and get to know a new batch of young professionals. He has kept in contact with many students well beyond the program and enjoys watching their careers evolve. Leadership Spotlight! ? This week we are highlighting our Associate Dean?of Graduate & Professional Programs,?Dr.?Gabriel Giordano!. Gabe oversees all graduate, professional, and executive programs. He provides support to our directors and staff as well as helping develop strategies for those areas. Gabe is also a?professor?for several of our executive programs and has been Program Director in the past. ? Gabe has enjoyed watching the excitement that working professionals have when they come to the Athens campus. It is always inspiring to watch how energized they are by our beautiful campus, our wonderful faculty, and by each other. Gabe believes that people should participate?in our executive programming?because of?the?student-centered?approach in the College of Business. Our students are always put first, and we place emphasis on networking with cohort-mates. This emphasis keeps our program engaging, relevant, and high-impact. ? As for what's next, Gabe is excited to work with more business in the future. One of our program strengths is our ability to create programs that focus on business soft skills and help new hires onboard and integrate onto business settings faster and more effectively. It has been a busy month on campus for the Executive Education Program! Upon the departure of our first group of marketing and finance professionals, we welcomed 160 management and project management professionals from Latin America, in partnership with LAIOB! These?executives?had the chance to learn about both themselves and the professional world.?They?started the program by learning about Business English, Project Management?skills, and Strategic Management practices.?The Management students?then learned about themselves and how they work on teams through a series of LIFO performance evaluations.? ? Faculty spotlight! ? Our next?faculty?spotlight is Rebecca Webb. Professor Webb provides?upskilling to young professionals in?proper business presentations. Professor Webb brings 27 years of communication and business studies to the program, and in her teachings, she encourages skills in researching, writing, visual communications, professional presentations, and the ability to process feedback. In addition to her responsibilities with Executive Education, Professor Webb teaches an introduction to business communication course. ? Professor Webb believes that the Sogeti?program is a fantastic fit for both the employer and newly hired employee. Our programs teach both soft and hard skills to the new employees and brings about new teamworking and self-awareness skills. Her favorite part about the program is seeing the "light bulb" click with?young professionals?after being challenged in new areas that help them grow. ? The?Sogeti?Executive Education program provides a place where professionals get to practice what they learn. The program has real-world projects that allow students to take risks without a fear of failure, and allows these students to take struggles they encounter to build on their skills. Both the young professionals and company receive a better perspective that creates a conversation to determine the future the business relationship between the two parties. ? Professor Webb believes that each program provides new personalities with new professionals. She also enjoys reflecting on the feedback from each program and incorporating it into the next program to make it better than the last. We are thrilled to welcome the first class of LAIOB participants for 2025! ? Marketing and Finance professionals from Latin America arrived on campus to begin their two-week development program. These professionals were able to participate in workshops with topics such as Business English, financial statement analyses and modeling, and various marketing activities. Our professionals were instructed by esteemed past and present OHIO faculty as well as executive friends of the university.?The group was also able to experience the fun of a Bobcat basketball game.?Students ended the week with a professional conference and official campus tour. #ohiouniversity #executiveeducation #LAIOB #marketing #finance

For the last few weeks, we have welcomed Sogeti 144 to campus! Upon their arrival, Sogeti 144 was able to have an introduction to campus as well as meet their cohort-mates. Before their arrival on campus, the first week of the program was spent focusing on technology trends of the future and the threats they will pose to businesses. After getting to OHIO’s campus, students had a week full of creativity and innovation activities. This week, the young professionals worked together to solve a real client problem. While on campus, these young professionals had the opportunity to engage in OHIO culture by attending a basketball game and explore campus. YP's will present their findings to Sogeti sales and a client representative. We wish this group safe travels home, and are grateful for the time they were able to spend on campus with us for another successful program!
