This month, we celebrate our Muskogee and Horseshoe Lake Power Plants turning 100 years old! As technology evolved over time in how we generated electricity, so did OG&E. These plants were powered first by steam, then coal, and then natural gas. They have provided safe, reliable electricity at some of the most affordable rates in the country, powering the growth and prosperity of the communities we serve. We appreciate the power plant teams who are dedicated to the day-to-day operations to support our customers. Here's to another 100 years!

As we close out Hispanic Heritage Month, get to know Viridiana “Vivi” Zuniga, a New Construction Advocate and member of our Hacemos TOGETHER? Member Resource Group. Vivi’s family immigrated to Oklahoma from Mexico and her sister also works for OG&E. Vivi believes being bilingual is like having a superpower and is thankful to her parents for never allowing her to forget her native language and roots. “I wanted to do something where I could help my Hispanic community. Working at OG&E allows me to satisfy that goal. When I talk with our Spanish-speaking customers, I leave work knowing I helped a customer in their language. I know what it is like coming to a different country and not knowing how to communicate because of a language barrier.”

Today, we are bringing home our crew that spent the last two weeks in Georgia rebuilding the grid following Hurricane Helene as we send another group to Florida in preparation for Hurricane Milton's anticipated impact. To say I'm proud of our #BigOrange team is an understatement - their commitment to energizing life extends beyond Oklahoma and Arkansas, to every community we support through mutual assistance.
Big Orange is on the road to Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton. Trucks and materials used in the rebuilding and restoration efforts for Hurricane Helene in Georgia will now head to Florida to help with the anticipated damage from Hurricane Milton. At the request of Florida Power & Light, nearly 100 line crew and support personnel will stage in Savannah, Georgia, then travel to Florida safely to communities impacted by Hurricane Milton. Another OG&E crew, which specializes in underground line work, left Oklahoma City this morning heading to Florida to assist Duke Energy Florida. We appreciate our crews for their willingness to volunteer help those affected by the hurricanes. Wishing our team a safe journey!?
