Our mission is to educate and empower communities reliant on the High Plains Aquifer system to recover agency & and rehydrate the landscape that sustains them. Web3 presents novel tools for organization, governance, valuation, and market-making. Our "IRL" work is guided by ancient knowledge that recognizes the connections between our atmosphere, the land's surface, and groundwater. Our vision is a bioregional-spanning network of distributed, decentralized, diverse instances of natural infrastructure, mutually reinforcing to keep rain when it falls so as to extend the availability of soil moisture through the dry season(s).

    I really enjoyed the Water Harvest conference which is just now winding up - much thanks to Ogallala Commons ?? We discussed practical, actionable stuff and it was awesome. We heard from builders, professors, artists, leader at our drainage utility and more ?? Thanks to Donavan Johnson too for running the booth and engaging with lots of folks. He's working his third year in streamshed recovery in the American West - pretty cool! I got to speak yesterday morning, to give an overview & context - Water Realities in (Our) #SemiArid Landscape. We looked at some maps, especially surficial geology, and a brief glimpse of our vision Ogallala Life. Widely distributed, decentralized, diverse, small scale, nature based #infrastructure for #water security & a healthy, wealthy future... Will M. convo w/ host Cash Upton re our latest #landscape #rehydration works at Wildcat Bluff Discovery Center (80 #leakyweirs, awaiting rains) & that of the year prior along the Canadian River breaks (110 #NIDS aka natural infrastructure, dryland streams, on 6 ephemeral drainages). & lots more - covered lots of ground - previewed below the link but you should stop reading & give it a listen ?? ?????? https://lnkd.in/gxu3h39U We reviewed challenges, such as consolidated ownership whereby oft absent & abstracted entities own huge swathes of the #txpanhandle & are entitled to #mine water, basically as much as they can #pump. Our public is understandably, but tragically, disconnected from place, denied mere access by threat of trespass. Daunting circumstances... A short aside too re #bison ?? Discussed what all this ?? has to do with #web3, #blockchain, digital assets et al. Overviewed a critical component to a functional ecosystem services market, ie #MRV, and briefed our work w/ dMeter (for #dMRV where d is digital, decentralized & distributed). Again, the "task" is to engage locals for applied citizen science, so as to support accessible & effective markets. Mentioned too our FOAM Inc #lorawan pilot whereby data can be made available to #oracles, to fulfill or deny conditions of smart contracts, with a #GPS independent #proofoflocation. And, within $Regen ecosystem whereby we've reviewed others' water centric proposals (ie Virridy, avoided emission credits to subsidize green infrastructure), have outlined concepts of our own (ie #playa #wetland #ecocredit) and will more intensively engage in #governance as csDAO-to-be, cohort 3.
