关于我们
Ogallala Commons has grown from a small project into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides leadership and education to reinvigorate communities and commonwealth in the Great Plains Region. Our service area is centered over the High Plains-Ogallala Aquifer (see map and state boundaries to the right), but also extends west into the Rocky Mountains region, and east to the river-braided prairies.

The Ogallala region is home to a rich web of life—native plants, animals, and insects that sustain our communities with healthy soil, clean water, and biodiversity. Through stewardship programs and partnerships, we’re working to preserve these vital ecosystems for future generations. A key part of that effort is sustainable water management, which is why we’re hosting the Rainwater Harvesting Conference on March 27-28 in Amarillo. This event will explore how we can collect, store, and utilize rainwater to reduce reliance on groundwater. Attendees will gain practical insights through expert-led sessions, field tours, exhibits, and networking opportunities—all designed to support water conservation and regeneration efforts. ????
