关于我们

About Zeta Phi Beta Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C. by five coeds who envisioned a sorority which would directly affect positive change, chart a course of action for the 1920s and beyond, raise consciousness of their people, encourage the highest standards of scholastic achievement, and foster a greater sense of unity among its members. These women believed that sorority elitism and socializing overshadowed the real mission for progressive organizations and failed to address fully the societal mores, ills, prejudices, and poverty affecting humanity in general and the black community in particular. Since its inception, Zeta has continued its steady climb into the national spotlight with programs designed to demonstrate concern for the human condition both nationally and internationally. The organization has been innovative in that it has chronicled a number of firsts. It was the first National Pan-Hellenic Council organization to centralize its operations in a national headquarters, first to charter a chapter in Africa, first to form auxiliary groups, and first to be constitutionally bound to a fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The sorority takes pride in its continued participation in transforming communities through volunteer services from members and its auxiliaries. Zeta Phi Beta has chartered hundreds of chapters worldwide and has a membership of 100,000+. Zeta‘s national and local programs include the endowment of its National Educational Foundation community outreach services and support of multiple affiliate organizations. Zeta chapters and auxiliaries have given un-totaled hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for social and civic change.

  • Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Honors the Unparalleled Legacy of Dr. Hazel N. Dukes With hearts heavy yet full of gratitude, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated pays tribute to the incomparable Dr. Hazel N. Dukes—a towering force of justice, a relentless advocate, and a woman whose very presence demanded change. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Dr. Dukes stood at the intersection of history and progress, pushing forward with an unshakable commitment to equity, empowerment, and excellence. Dr. Dukes was not just a leader—she was the standard. She did not seek permission to speak; she spoke because silence was never an option. She did not ask for a seat at the table; she built tables, pulled up chairs, and made sure others had a voice. Her life’s work was not about recognition—it was about results. As the President of the NAACP New York State Conference and Member of the National Board of Directors, Dr. Dukes carried the torch of justice with a fire that could not be extinguished. She was a warrior in every arena—whether fighting against discrimination, demanding policy reforms, or ensuring that Black communities had access to the resources they deserved. Her leadership within the NAACP, both statewide and nationally, fortified the foundation of civil rights and set a blueprint for generations to follow. In Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, remains steadfast in our mission to Helping Other People Excel by amplifying the Extraordinary Power of S.H.E.— advocating for Social, Health, and Economic justice. Dr. Dukes embodied that power effortlessly, ensuring that the fight for social equity, healthcare access, and economic mobility remained at the forefront of national conversations. She was a movement, a force, and a testament to what is possible when conviction meets action. But her work is far from over. Her impact will reverberate through every ballot cast, every policy challenged, and every individual who refuses to accept injustice. Her legacy lives on in those who will continue to fight, in those who will rise because she lifted them, and in those who now stand taller because she showed them how. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated extends our deepest condolences to her family, her beloved Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, sisters of The Links, Incorporated, the NAACP, and all who had the privilege of standing in her light. She may have transitioned, but her influence is eternal. Rest well, Dr. Dukes. Your voice will never be silenced, your impact will never be erased, and your legacy will never be forgotten. Because of you, we push forward—stronger, bolder, and more determined than ever. #hazeldukes @dst1913 NAACP

  • Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated mourns the loss of our Triumphant Soror Angie Stone, an American singer, songwriter, actress, record producer, three-time Grammy Nominee, and two-time Soul Train Awards winner. Renowned for her contributions to the R&B and neo-soul genres, Stone’s music has resonated with fans for decades. She was a member of the F.A.C.E Diabetes (Fearless African-Americans Connected and Empowered) program sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company, which helps African Americans understand their risk for the disease and how to control it. Triumphant Soror Stone aligned her passions and talents with the sorority’s Elder Care initiatives and Zetas Helping Other People Excel (Z-HOPE?). Our hearts go out to her family, loved ones, and fans around the world on whose lives she left an indelible mark.
