Recently, I had the honor to share my journey through research and industry at the UCF National Merit Scholars Dinner, hosted by President Alexander N. Cartwright, University of Central Florida and the UCF Burnett Honors College. Speaking in front of hundreds of attendees and recounting my journey through college has allowed me to reflect on how far I've come since starting here in Orlando thanks to the opportunities afforded by UCF. From conducting machine learning research at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, to winning a hackathon and a weekend trip to a Milwaukee Bucks Inc. game, then conducting AI research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and landing an upcoming Data Science internship at Microsoft—it's been an incredible journey. I'd like to extend my gratitude to Padmini D. Coopamah Waldron, Ph.D. of the Office of Undergraduate Research at UCF and Dean Sheila Amin (Gutierrez de Pineres) of the Honors College for inviting me to participate in this wonderful event, and the Burnett Honors College for all the opportunities they have afforded me. I’m grateful for the chance to inspire new Knights and I hope to see you all on campus next semester! #GKCO

I’m so excited to share that I’ll be presenting my research at UCF’s Student Scholar Symposium as part of this year’s Research Week! Come visit me on Thursday, March 27th from 12:00–1:30 PM as I share my poster: “Who Gets Help? The Systemic Barriers to Speech Therapy for Low-Income Black and Latino Boys.” This project is part of my scoping review examining how systemic inequities shape access to speech-language services for low-income Black and Latino boys in the U.S. I’d love to chat, connect, and exchange ideas! Truly amazed and impressed! During today’s University of Central Florida 2025 Student Research Week “Impact of Research” Scholarship Competition hosted at UCF Downtown, students showcased groundbreaking research across a wide array of disciplines. Presentations included criminal justice, teacher training, video games, and public policy among other topics, shared with a level of talent and dedication that was truly inspiring. Today I had the opportunity to be a panelist for OUR’s “Your Passport to the Future: The Power of Student Research Panel”. This is the second workshop I have been a panelist for and I have enjoyed every moment?? Being able to share my experiences and advise students on research was very fulfilling and inspiring ?? I am so grateful for the opportunity to share and connect with other research interested students?? I am also so grateful to have had an amazing group of panelists with me??
