I appreciated the opportunity to visit with the members of the Muskogee Chamber. We talked about how my office can work alongside this group for the benefit of Oklahomans.

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of visiting with attendees at the United Indian Nations of Oklahoma Quarterly Meeting, where I continued to build and strengthen relationships with sovereign tribal nations in our state. A strong, positive relationship between our state and our tribal nations is critical for Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma State Human Trafficking Response Unit was created to protect innocent men, women, and children from this terrible scourge on our society. My office is determined to use every tool in our toolbox to end the horrors of human trafficking.

Our consumer protection unit posted signage in fire-damaged areas about how to report contractor fraud. We are committed to protecting vulnerable Oklahomans with every tool afforded to my office.

At a time when public trust in government is eroding, transparency is not simply a matter of good governance. It is the heart of democracy. Sunshine Week, which began today and runs through March 22, is an appropriate time to redouble our efforts to strengthen open government and transparency. Yesterday, firefighters and other first responders across our state acted with swiftness, diligence, and bravery. That work continues today. They are heroes, each and every one. Thank you. BREAKING: President Trump's Administration just dismissed the federal government’s challenge of HB 4156 – a tough illegal immigration law previously enacted into law for Oklahoma. For far too long, our state’s law enforcement was stymied because the Biden Administration refused to deport illegal immigrants found working in our clandestine marijuana grows. This action by the DOJ marks the start of a new day for public safety.
