We had an inspiring visit to Exploration & Discovery Middle School in the Bronx to see the Regents for All Initiative in action! Middle school students are taking Regents exams to unlock advanced high school programs, earn early college credits, and prepare for academic success. Our talented NYC students showcased their technical and broadcasting skills through a live, student-led podcast featuring industry leaders like Dr. Dennis B. McKesey (Off School Grounds Coalition), Matthew Fraser (NYC Chief Technology Officer), and Gregg Betheil (CEO of PENCIL). They discussed equitable access to technology and its role in shaping future opportunities for our students. Jeffrey Chetirko, Ed.D. from the Office of Student Pathways delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the importance of expanding student pathways and providing early college access. His insights reinforced our commitment to preparing students for academic and career success. Not only did our middle-school students lead the conversation, but they also managed the entire livestream production! This hands-on career exploration highlights the importance of connecting classroom learning to real-world career pathways and providing early exposure to FutureReadyNYC (FRNYC) pathways. #OfficeofStudentPathways #NYCDOE #NYCPS #FutureReadyNYC #RealWorldSkills Uche L.
