Thanks to our community partners and volunteers who made our 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway in Maspeth successful ?? Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Assemblymember Steven Raga and his team for allowing the Philippine Nurses Association of New York, Inc. to be part of their Turkey Giveaway Day today. At the event, our team was able to help pack 150 bags of food , do health teachings on vaccinations and respiratory conditions and hold a wellness clinic for the people of Maspeth, NY. I am extremely proud of our volunteer officers and members for braving the cold and withstanding the strong, brisk winds while they serve the community outdoors. They were all smiles and vibrant despite the weather. Thank you to our volunteers today. The Queens CEC 24 Legislative Luncheon in Maspeth was a wonderful way for us to meet with our neighborhood’s principals and parents to discuss how we can all support our schools!

Great turnout for the Pinoy Town Hall (Talakayan Para Sa Mga Pilipino) in Jackson Heights! Thanks to the Co-Host organizations, community leaders, and neighbors that joined us to discuss the recent election, pressing issues of the Filipino American community, and find ways to work on solutions as one community!

Great turnout in Diversity Plaza for Queens Community Board 3’s Immigrant Resource Fair!

Joined the New York Tibetan Service Center for the Grand Opening of their new community space in Elmhurst! I look forward to working with them to make sure all our neighbors have the resources and services they need!

We have long-standing gaps in our safety net that shut out many of our state’s most vulnerable workers. Freelance work is exploding and excluded workers are becoming an ever bigger part of our economy, but labor protections have been slow to follow, leaving such workers vulnerable to exploitation. New York State must permanently repair the holes in our safety net and make sure the most vulnerable workers in our state aren’t left behind, and so I’m happy to once again support the Unemployment Bridge Program!

Our office was happy to organize our first-ever Veterans Appreciation Luncheon in Maspeth, with the support of CCA Metro - Carpenter Contractor Alliance of Metropolitan New York and Maspeth Town Hall, Inc. ????
