Exciting progress continues on the City of Sanford Utilities Building project. With roofing and windows now installed and complete, drywall and insulation work is underway. All MEP trades have passed in-wall inspections, and fire sprinkler installation and ductwork are expected to wrap up this week, paving the way for above-ceiling inspections. Outside, the city has begun grading in preparation for exterior concrete work and asphalt replacement. Brickwork is set to begin soon, followed by EIFS installation throughout February. Exciting updates on the UF Basic Sciences 3rd floor renovation project! Framing is nearing completion, and drywall is being installed around the chases and west offices. On the third floor, new HVAC ductwork is being hung, and this past weekend, the AHU curb was flown up to the roof. Electrical work continues with conduit, hangers, and junction boxes being installed, while hydronic piping is being hung and welded. Meanwhile, new plumbing for the bathrooms is coming together, and copper piping is being set in place. Exciting news! Our project over at Butler Plaza is nearing completion, with less than five weeks to go! We’re in the final stages and working hard to finish on time. Curbing is set to wrap up by the end of the week, and today we’re beginning to tack the lime rock in preparation for asphalt work, which will start later this week and continue through Saturday. Landscaping will follow within the first two weeks after asphalt begins, adding the final touches to the site. GRU installations will take place from today through Wednesday, just in time for the asphalt work. The Meridian Behavioral Healthcare Central Receiving Unit is an innovative facility designed to transform how mental health and substance use crises are managed in the community. The total project scope was 2,448 square feet of renovations and a 2,299-square-foot addition facility provides a single point of access for emergency evaluation and stabilization. The expansion introduces distinct waiting areas for children and adults, ensuring a more comfortable and accommodating experience for all. Additional features include a law-enforcement-only bay area for secure transfers, private screening rooms for confidential assessments, and dedicated offices for staff. Enhanced safety measures, such as ligature-resistant fixtures, advanced fire and lighting systems, and comprehensive access controls, reflect a commitment to creating a secure and supportive environment. This facility exemplifies innovation and compassion, addressing critical community needs with state-of-the-art solutions.
