关于我们
Oregon Environmental Council brings Oregonians together to protect the water, air, and land we all share and love. We advocate for impactful, lasting solutions that get at the source of Oregon’s environmental problems and have real benefits for people’s health and quality of life. Our goals are a stable climate that safeguards our communities and economy; clean and plentiful water that supports people, fish and wildlife; and healthy homes and neighborhoods free of air pollution and hazardous chemicals. Founded in 1968 by concerned Oregonians across the state, Oregon Environmental Council is a membership-based, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with a long record of success and a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator. Oregon Environmental Council works to create innovative change on three levels: we help individuals live green; we help businesses, farmers and health providers thrive with sustainable practices; and we help elected officials create practical policy. To achieve a future where every Oregonian is thriving in healthy environment, we strive for equitable environmental policies and practices that give everyone a fair shot at acting on their environmental values and being a part of environmental decisions that affect them. Oregon Environmental Council offers a collaborative, team-oriented, family-friendly workplace that treats employees as the responsible professionals they are. Visit "Work with us" on our website for job opportunities.

“It was so quiet, I could hear the crew the whole time,” he said. “In a typical year, they need to yell to get my attention. No one was going deaf,?or?breathing fumes. It was fantastic.” That’s what Jake Hoyman (pictured), the Farm Manager at #SORECOregonState, had to say about the all-electric Polaris UTV we’ve been using since March 2024. That quote comes from an article by the Oregon Environmental Council discussing a partnership with Pacific Power and Oregon State University College of Agricultural Sciences to bring electric UTV vehicles for use at Experiment Stations around the state. Here at SOREC, these vehicles not only help us get research and farm work done, but they save us money on gas. The surprisingly powerful UTVs have even replaced tractors for some of the farm work!
