Oregon’s most influential climate policy – the Climate Protection Program – is back on the books thanks to the thoughtful work of Governor Kotek’s office and the Department of Environmental Quality staff! ?? Now, Oregon is tackling pollution and putting our communities and environment first. The victory comes after nearly three years of tireless work from OEC and our 50+ partners in the Coalition for Climate and Economic Justice. Several North Portland elementary schools are launching weekly chaperoned walks and bike rides for students to get to class as part of a $1.1 million grant from the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program.
