Krystal’s presence has allowed us to begin to dream up some really big goals and ideas. We are really excited to have her.

President Rider takes over from Nate as the school is big enough now need someone thinking about it full time--and Nate's off building AIs for all the companies in Omaha. Happy birthday to us!! 8 years ago today we officially enrolled 8 people into a data science certificate. Now we are enrolling people in cohort 23. Wild.

Our very own Emily Kenney won the first ever Gordon T Summers Data Scientist of the Year Award. Go Emily. Want to learn from the best? Emily's next class--Basic Model Building in our Machine Learning Certificate starts September 16th!

We are not shy that our classes really are great. Why wouldn't they be? Practicing professionals teaching what skills they use in their 8-5 jobs. Real Knowledge in Real time. Our grads really are the best. But don't take our word for it. We have a bevy of comments like this: @eluxury2????1 month ago I have to say this is a great class. It's actually more thorough and complete than Google Data Analytics for SQL.

A little knowledge tidbit we learned yesterday: Don't start two brand new classes AT THE EXACT SAME TIME!! when they are on different floors and 500 steps apart. Im pretty sure I rant 10,000 steps yesterday between 550 and 610. But we are so excited to get so many people learning about data science again. And like any good data science organization, here are the stats: 10 students continuing their path toward a start in machine learning cert. 14 students beginning their path to a business intelligence certificate. 80% of which are either: low socio economic, women, or BIPOC 16 in person 8 online at least 10 that will need internships--which we are paying for!!!--(hint, hint, nudge, nudge for all you companies out there needing DS and BI talent) If you missed the start of class and are bummed, don't be, SQL starts in March, Python Starts in April and the whole thing starts again in June at 1.5x speed.

The Omaha Data Science Academy (www.canlearnsmart.com) is honored to have been awarded a gracious grant from the state of Nebraska. This will allow us to develop workforce talent in H3 tech jobs. Our grant will be managed by our Tech Acess and Inclusion Fund and award over 90 full ride scholarships over the next 3 years complete with training, internships, and placement services.
