Seven years ago today. The second "PitchBlack" was held in front of 200+ folks at Instrument. Lindsey Murphy took home the big prize. Now five events later, we've had more than 3,000 attendees, giving more than $500,000 to Black owned businesses and created the largest one day pitch event for Black founders in the country. NEW CASE STUDY! In 2022, Liana Soifer, a transracial adoptee born in South Korea, approached Odd Notion with a vision. Her goal was to transform her fundraiser campaign for a docuseries exploring BIPOC adoptees' lives into a media company. Liana is the co-founder and Executive Director of BIPOC Adoptees, a non-profit whose mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for BIPOC adoptees. The organization aims to provide a platform for sharing stories, building connections, and accessing adoptee-centered programming and resources. Through innovative approaches to community, education, and care, BIPOC Adoptees addresses the systemic disregard of adoptees and works to build power within the adoptee community.
