We're on a mission to accelerate outcomes for learners receiving behavioral and educational services by training & supporting practitioners (like you!) The two of us (Liz Lefebre, M.A., BCBA-LBA and Amy L. Evans, M.Ed., BCBA, IBA) were fortunate enough to have received intensive training and mentorship early in our careers in the areas of Precision Teaching, Fluency Based Instruction, Instructional Design, and Assent Based Instruction. Given how critical these frameworks and methods have been in our work with learners, and how rare it is to find high-quality professional development in these areas, we decided to launch Octave in 2020 to make a broader impact on our field(s) and reach as many learners as possible with ethical, effective educational practices. Spend a few months in one of our cohort programs to deepen your knowledge, build a community of practice, get direct training and feedback from experts, and effectively implement what you learn. In the business world, opportunities to upskill are provided via coding bootcamps and accelerator programs - we see our intensive programs as similar experiences, but for teachers and behavior analysts!

Wowza! We had such an incredible turnout at our last week's chart share with the Standard Celeration Society -- with so many brilliant educators coming together to share their invaluable knowledge and expertise! ?? From seasoned chart sharers to first-timers, we had so many great shares that led to insightful discussions on teaching things like math facts, segmenting words into sounds, reading passages, and relational language! Coming together in a judgment-free zone allowed us to learn from and inspire each other in such a meaningful way. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! We’re so grateful to be part of this vibrant community of dedicated, brilliant and compassionate educators who are making a real difference every day helping others. Your willingness to share your time and insights means the world to us. Octave is partnering with The Standard Celeration Society to cohost another FREE, open Chart Share event on Wednesday, August 28th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST, focusing on one of our favorite topics—teaching and learning academic skills! As you may know, Precision Teachers have been using standardized charts for decades to measure and enhance learning progress and outcomes. This event will be a fantastic opportunity for our community of practitioners to: ? Present our own charts and receive feedback from peers ? See new examples of charts tracking diverse academic skills ? Discover and learn new techniques for data collection and analysis ? Network with fellow educators who are passionate about evidence-based practices and the charts.
