Don’t make these 10 Most Common Pitch Deck Mistakes! Haje Kamps, a seasoned journalist-turned-entrepreneur, breaks down the art of storytelling, the science of pitching, and the brutal reality of venture capital (VC) funding—all with a dash of humor and hard-earned wisdom. Watch the full talk here: https://lnkd.in/eHaCqqZe Welcome to our new series “LITE Talks – Ideas that spark LITE,†where we share expert insights in Leadership, Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship. From startup strategy to emotional intelligence, each talk delivers real-world wisdom from experienced founders, builders, and thought leaders—designed to inspire and empower the next generation of changemakers. ??Highlights: ?? The power of storytelling in securing venture capital ? A compelling pitch isn’t just about numbers but about creating a narrative that captivates investors. Since VCs seek 100x returns, founders must clearly articulate their market size, scalability, and long-term growth potential to stand out.? ??Having a great idea isn’t enough ? Founder-market fit is crucial, as investors back entrepreneurs who have the expertise, passion, and network to execute their vision.? ? Market timing and competition awareness play a key role in investor confidence. ? Traction > potential, whether through revenue, partnerships, or strong user adoption. ??First-mover advantage doesn’t exist? ? Execution, adaptability, and strategic decision-making matter more than being the pioneer in a market. ?? VC funding is not always the right path ? Founders should bootstrap when possible and ensure they’re partnering with investors aligned with their long-term vision.? ?? The real purpose of a pitch deck? ? A pitch deck is a door-opener, not the final step. The main goal is to secure a follow-up conversation. Ultimately, great founders sell a vision—they convince investors, customers, and top talent to believe in the future they’re building. Success in the startup world goes beyond just having an innovative product; it requires execution, timing, and a compelling story that makes people want to be part of the journey Click below to watch now: https://lnkd.in/eHaCqqZe #Leadership #Innovation #Technology #Entrepreneurship #StartupSuccess #VentureCapital #PitchPerfect #FounderMindset #StorytellingInBusiness #GoToMarketStrategy #EntrepreneurshipTips #InvestorPitch #ScalingStartups #BusinessGrowth

In this summit, Professor Helen Wang from University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management delivered an insightful lecture based on her extensive experience in global SCM at excellent companies including Apple and Google. Through these discussions, we explored the challenges faced by supply chain leaders and their solutions from multiple perspectives. The three key takeaways that left a strong impression on me: 1. The Perspective and Role of the CSCO (Chief Supply Chain Officer) I gained the understanding of how CSCOs work to oversee the holistic supply chain from procurement, to maximize the perceived value (P-Value) to customers. Japan corporates used to focus on manufacturing. However, I strongly feel that they must take on an expanded role fit urgently. 2. A Shift from Operation to Management CSCOs/CLOs are responsible for social responsibility toward shareholders. For example, addressing climate changes is an essential part of their role. 3. Perspectives Across Industries The summit brought diverse professionals from trading companies, manufacturers, retailers, logistics, IT, and insurance. Through in-depth discussions, I gained better understanding of different stakeholders' perspectives. Drawing on my 20+ years of experience in logistics and DX, I am eager to contribute to the development of next-generation supply chains. Last but not least, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Associate Professor Shunichi Ohmori from Waseda University, Mr. Yuichiro Ikeda from SIGMAXYZ Group(シグマクシス?グループ), and 野æ‘ä¸å‹•ç”£ï¼ˆæ ªï¼‰, who co-hosted the event. The sheer quality of this learning opportunity made it evident how much dedication and effort were made, and I was truly inspired. I look forward to continuing engaging discussions with many of you about the future of supply chains!

In this week’s release, Strengths Coach Colleen Boselli offers valuable advice to Gen Z students preparing to transition from university to the workplace. She emphasizes the importance of forging strong connections with colleagues and leaders from different generations, such as Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers, to achieve success in professional settings. One key recommendation is to use the Strengths Profile Assessment, a tool designed to help individuals gain deeper self-awareness by identifying their strengths. This tool also enables employees to understand the strengths of those around them, fostering mutual appreciation and respect. By recognizing that everyone is unique, the assessment encourages thoughtful collaboration and helps bridge generational gaps in the workplace. Coach Colleen highlights that each generation brings its own behaviors, mindsets, and approaches to work. For example,? ? Baby Boomers may bring a wealth of experience and dedication ? Gen X often offers adaptability and a pragmatic outlook ? Millennials contribute innovation and purpose-driven focus ? Gen Z adds fresh perspectives and technological savvy These differences are not just valuable but essential for creating a workplace with the breadth of skills needed to succeed. By understanding and appreciating these diverse traits, students can actively contribute to building a collaborative, inclusive, and harmonious work environment. This approach not only promotes better teamwork but also equips Gen Z professionals with the interpersonal skills necessary to navigate multigenerational workplaces effectively, ultimately positioning them for long-term career growth.
