Last Thursday, we spent the day at Akarana Golf Club for the 28th annual ‘Oceanbridge Charity Golf Day’. With 130 players in attendance, this year’s event was our biggest so far! Thank you to all those who spent the day with us. It was a fantastic day filled with great golf, plenty of sportsmanship, and huge generosity towards our deserving charities. This year, our two chosen charities were Cure Parkinson's NZ and Whānau āwhina Plunket. Cure Parkinson's NZ is a charity that are working to find a cure for Parkinson's disease, a progressive neurological condition that in the future could affect one in 37 Kiwis. Money raised will support essential research and fund the work of the dedicated scientists who are part of a global collaboration working towards finding a cure. Whānau āwhina Plunket is Aotearoa’s largest support service for the health and wellbeing of tamariki under five and their whānau. They offer free health and development checks, a 24/7 parenting helpline, and a range of local services aimed at improving the development, health and well-being of children. Oceanbridge are extremely proud to be supporting such worthy causes.???

Our Tauranga office had the pleasure of hosting some of our fantastic customers, as well as the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce for a morning tea and tour of Port of Tauranga yesterday. ? It’s always a great day when you get the chance to see the ‘behind the scenes’ of an NZ Port, and even better when you’re in great company!

Oceanbridge are a proud sponsor of Paralympics New Zealand, and we were lucky enough to have a guest speaker come into the Takapuna office today. Mitch Joynt, a New Zealand Paralympian, joined us to talk about his experience at the Paris Paralympics 2024. It was his first time competing in the games and he did really well, placing 6th in the Men’s 200m T64 final at Paris 2024. He’s also won multiple medals in other championships. Mitch’s journey from his accident to competing at the Paralympics was incredible to listen to and his attitude is phenomenal. He is a really level-headed, driven, and inspiring individual so it was a pleasure to host him. We look forward to cheering you on at the LA Paralympics in 2028 Mitch!
