关于我们
Ocean Visions was created to develop and advance solutions to protect and restore the ocean. We focus on the biggest driver of dangerous change – the climate disruption that is increasing ocean temperatures and levels of acidification. We mobilize a diverse network of collaborators and leverage cutting-edge science and innovative technologies to build ocean-based solutions that reduce climate stressors and restore ocean ecosystems. In short, we work to stabilize the climate and regenerate ocean health.

Great to see our friends at Carbon to Sea Initiative take this important step to advance our understanding of ocean alkalinity enhancement as an option to clean up legacy greenhouse gas pollution. ?? ??
Today we’re announcing a new project that harnesses the power of coordinated global model intercomparison experiments to better understand the efficacy of Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE). This project is supported with funding from Carbon to Sea and Google. Researchers will work to understand how inter-model differences lead to simulated uncertainties in the efficacy of OAE, and identify areas where all of the models agree. This will lead to increased confidence in the accuracy of carbon removal estimates from OAE. More information on the fellowship positions and how modeling groups can learn more about participating in the project or hosting one of the research fellows will be announced soon. ?? Next week, CarbonFix board member and climate scientist Jeroen Hazewinkel will venture out to Vancouver’s Biennial Ocean Visions Summit, hosted by Ocean Visions, and host an invite-only event. Jeroen is an expert on new technology deployment and decarbonisation. The topic: how to support climate ventures as well as removing systemic barriers around ocean climate repair. ??CarbonFix is eager to meet climate obsessed foundations & family offices (a.k.a. coffo’s) at the Hyatt Regency on Tuesday 25th March from 5pm onwards. If you have time to join Jeroen, The Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, Builders Vision and others for this intimate round table, please send Jeroen a direct message via LinkedIn. (And maybe pour him a cup of coffee to help him tackle his jetlag ??) ????♂?He will gladly tell you all about how we're supporting climate ventures and climate interventions (including in and around the ocean) and why we think the CarbonFix approach is such a valuable addition to the climate funding landscape. ?? Godspeed, Jeroen!
